♦ FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Prosequi indications arc for moderate to strong southerly winds northward of KawJiia and East Gape, and for southerly breezes, veering shortly "to westerlies, and then increasing elsewhere. Cloudy to overcast conditions are probublo generally, showery in tho northernmost districts" and rain'following in tho West' Coast and southernmost districts of tlio South Island. Barometer vise in the north, but fall shortly in tho south. An atmospheric depression of moderate intensity passed in tho south last night, and a small secondary '"low" lias been located in the northernmost districts today. Scattered rain fell during the night and this morning, but conditions havo been fair to cloudy generally to-day, with moderate to strong southerly winds preYuiling. B. V. PEMBERTON.
