9 "SAN TOY" TO BE PRODUCED. At a committee meeting of the Wellington Amateur Operatic Sooioty, it was decided that the next production shall be Sydney Jones's tuneful light "San Toy.'" This pretty wwrk, which is well 'packed with oatchy melodies, ran "The Geisha" very close in point of popular favour, and is still played occasionally ill the Old Country. It is so long since it "was played here that it will be .new to the younger generation of ,playgoers. It will motffc probably be staged during August, and all profits will go towards one oi the patriotic funds. The opera will be produced under (he lir i Wtion s «S Hi. Tew Pollard. It was decided to donate the sum of : .-C 100 Howards the Soldiers' Hostel at

Newtown. The profit on the "Lea Cloches" season hardly amounted to so muoh, but the balance has been .made up from the society's fund.
