NEW ZEALAND CENSUS

TO BE TAKEN EARLY NEXT YEAR The Prime Minister, the Right Hon. W. F. Massey, informed a reporter at the conclusion of a Cabinet meeting yesterday that the Government had decided to proceed with the taking of a census of New Zealand. "The matter has been befovo Cabinet on several occasions," remarked the l'rime Minister, "and a decision has been ooms to that the census should be taken. In all probability, however, it will not be possible to make the necessary arrangements for the census uiitil early nex 1 , year. The five years period terminates with April next, so that the next census will represent the movements and growth of population and so forth which have taken place in a, term extending to nearly six years."
