OTAGO REJECTS THE PROPOSAL. .By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, January 17. /At a meeting of the Otago Patriotic Association, it was resolved that the time was inopportune for a conference, as suggested by the Minister of Internal Affairs, to prevent the overlapping of funds. , It was also decided to inform the Minister that a fund subscribed by the public should not be used for the erection and maintenance of homes, hospitals, or similar institutions under the control of the Government.
