BILLIARDS
— : ■ ■ THE" CRYSTALATE CUP. Two more games were played last night before quits, a largo audience. Tlio first pair at the'' table, wero W. N. Tucker (Federal Club) and J. P. Keys (Working Men's •. Club). Tucker got well away from wis opponent early 'in the gamp, and looked as if ho could not possibly fail to win. Keys, however, who, by the wayj- is one of the oldest ■ oucists in the Dominion, by sheer persistency and excellent judgment caught his'opponent in the last hundred,' and • won hv 40 odd. points. Billiards is. apparently.'hot' yet'altogether a young men's game. The second game, between H. ■ Shanks (Dominion Club) and P. Devine (Petone W.M. Club) proved an easy win for the former, who ran up his 300 well under aiv hour. Both" men shaped well,' but Devirie for & Jong time was ratheiconscious of'his environment, and did not play up...to his capabilities... No startling breaks were made, t'liq. best being Shanks 20,' 27, 29, 21, and 20, and Keys 37. To-night Brice plays Stone and Warren plays Owen.
