FEDERATION OF LABOUR
i The annual conference of, the .United Federation of Labour was opened on Saturday morning at the Esperanto Hall. The Hon. J. T. l?aul was voted to the chair, arid the following .committees were setup:—Press Committee, Messrs. P. 51. Eobson, C. llenn, and S. 0. Brown; Order Paper Committee, Messrs. J. Dowgray, E. Howard, and P. Hickey; Credentials Committee, Messrs. Barnes, J. Bead, and E. Woodham. The report and balance-slieet were adopted.The report of the committee set up to deal with the constitution was received. Conference considered various remits 'from the Otago Certificated Engine Drivers' Union, in conjunction with the recommendations of the Constitution and Ilnles Committee. The conference adjourned at 6 p.m.
