MASTERTON NOTES.

The following is the result of the annual examinations held in connection with the Masterton division of the St. John Ambulance Brigado: J. C. Cooper, 1; A. Stokes, 2; J. Roipon, 3; T. W. Davis, 4; J. Hopkius, 5. The candidates we're exammod by Dr. Cook. It is stated that Mr. G. R. -Sykes, M.P., has purchased a farm at Tanc, in the Eketahuna district, and will take up his residence thoro. An effort is being made to form' a Choral Socioty in this town. A preliminary meeting was hold on Monday evening.

The members of tho local branch of the Y.M.C.A. are holding a successful camp at Akura. The camp was visited on Sunday by Mr. A. Jamoson, the national secretary, and Mr. E. Varney, the Wellington secretary.
