SflWlors' War Kits. The Napier Ladies' War Fund Committee havo had so many inquiries as w what tho men's kits con;r.'od that it was thought wiso to print a list. Each man leaving Napier receives the following:—l kit bag (waterproof) containing:' 2 blankets, 1 military pillow-case, 2 yards strong cord, 1 jersey, 2 top shirts (flannel), 2 undor-shirts, 2 body bands, 1 knitted Balaclava helmet, 1 woollen scarf, 1 pair mittens, 3 pairs Books. 2 towels, 1 drinking mug, and a 20-inch square holland bap;, with the following contents: 1 enamel plate, lib. tobacco, 50 cigarettes, 1 packet tin boxes of matches, 1 penknife, 1 Bible, 9 handkerchiefs, carbolic bath soap, shaving soap, 1 tin antiseptic ointment with rag, for sore feet, etc.. 1 hold-all, containing knife, fork, spoon, and needlework necessaries, 1 pipe. Mr: and Mrs. A. Crawford have returned to Wellington. Miss Myers has returned from a visit to Pieton. Mr. and Mrs. Tripp have returned from a round of visits in Canterbury. Mrs. H. B. Gillies (Dunedin) return from Auckland this week to visit Mrs. Hadiiold at Paraparauniu. The death of Mrs. Leslie;' wife of Mr. T. W. Leslie, custodian of the Town Hall, was mentioned at last night's meeting of the City. Council by the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), who made sympathetic reference to the manner in which the deceased lady, had assisted her husband in the performance of his dutieso. On the motion of his Worship, the council passed a resolution condoling_ with Mr. Leslie and his family in their bereavement. Miss E.
