"Unity in Scholarship"" is' dealt with in a striking way by Dr. Francis Brown, a distinguished American Biblical scholar, and Dr. Doissmannls,'article on' "Jerusalem the.~H.6lK City," describes tho good work ,, that* is being done to combat the ravages of disease in Jerusalem. The attitude of the churches to' tho social problem is discussed by, ; Mr. Philip, Siiowdeai,' M.P. He states that while recognising • tho tremendous influence for good that tho sympathy and active support of tho Church will have .upon the social, movement, it must be -understood that , it is not tho work of tho Church to take in hand the control and direction of tho movement. That is the work of citizenship. It is'the duty... of,;,tho ' Church to preach those "eternal ChrisWan ethics which should guide the conduct of individuals and nations in their relations with _ each ■ other."
