BOXING INQUIRY.
L'AFFAIRE O'GRADIY A special meeting of the Wellington Boxing Association was held hist night for the purpose of ■ continuing the inquiry which had been set oh foot.as a. result of i allegations that all was not fair and aboveboard in the Contest between J. Hagerty and F. O'Grady at the Town Hall':in- June last.
Correspondence from O'Grady was read, protesting against tie charges. 'Mr. Gale characterised the charges as "a cowardly attack" upon.a matt after he had left the country. All the' "squeaking ,, had been done by the people who had lost money. Mr. Fofdham; when he made tho charges; was appar-' eutly championing the bookmakers. , . / Mr. iFordham challenged this; and said that he had a witness who was prepred to substantiate his (Mr. Fordhain's) charges, but was unwilling to bo publicly mentioned in the Press. . The ohairaau (Mr. M'Villy) strongly objected to in camera statements, but' the decided by a. small maiof r ity 'to go into camera, • upon which thd reporters retired. . '-. ■' v - ■
