The Railway Commissioners' report for the past year bliowb that earnings increased by £993,256, and working ex- ■ penses increased £764,939. The hot earnings, after paying interest on capital, showed a surplus of £22,463. _The tramway earnings increased £82,755, and the net earnings, after paying interest, gave a surplus of £34,136.
