MOVE TO ABOLISH IT.

A meeting convened by Mr. H. 0. Mellsop, on behalf of various ratepayers, to discuss steps to nbofhh'tho Palmerston River Board, was largely attended^ l ' The : meeting took place on Monday night, Major Dunk presiding .. Mr. Mellsop, in explaining the position, eaid that ho was one of tho successful objector's iwho had got off tho rating list, but. ho stated that the 'judgment, though satisfactory to him self, had not produced equity A petition, which was being prepared, •already had 350 names favouring tho abolition of the board They had acted promptly in order to stop further waite of money. Gardner said that only 300 more signatures were required to move tho law for the board's abolition Mr. R.
