. DUNEDIN INTERPROVINCIALS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association i Duriedin, November 1. The boxing contests began last night, .nd concluded this ovening. In Jie interprovincial contests, Lcckie (Dunedin) beat G. M'Minn (Canterbury) In the bantam class. E. M'Minn (Canterbury) • and North (Dunedin), lightweights, drew; Mains (Dunedin) beat Gundry (Canterbury) in the welter class; D. Boreham (Dunedin) beat Findlay (Canterbury) in the middle-weight ;• and 'Marquet (Canterbury) boat. Mathcwson in tho heavy-weight division.
The principal event of the second night's programme was the fifteen-round professional oontost between Arthur Kelly (9st. 6tlb.) and Denny Murphy (lOst. 61b.), which resulted in a win for tho latter on points, after a most willing contest. Kelly led in the early stages of the contort, the first, second, fourth, fifth, and thirteenth rounds being in his favour, the sixth, seventh, eloventh and twelfth rounds were even while the eighth, ninth, fourteenth and" fifteenth were in favour of Murphy. Ivellv was a clever boxer but his opponent also showed clever work and his blows* contained more sting. Murphy's weight told in the concluding rounds, Kelly tiring perceptibly. Other results were:—
Ten-stone Novice Semi-final.—E. Moir (lOst.) beat J. Hotter (9st. 91b.); R. Anderson (9st. 91b.) beat G. Langdon (9st. 91b.). Pinal—Moir (lOst.), boat Anderson (9st. 91b).
Nine-stone Novice Final.—VV. Parker (Bst. 131b.) beat J. M'Auliit'e, 9st. Eleven-stone Novice Semi-final.—VV. Evans (list.) beat P. Newan (lOst. Gib.). Final—Styles (lOst. 111b.) boat Evans (list.).
