COMMENCEMENT MADE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.'! Wairoa, January 23. A. successful rani fair was held here on Saturday, and niay be considered as the beginning of an important annual fixtiirt. There was a large attendance of settlers, | who apparently see the necessity of im- | proving their flocks in.view of the. early establishment of freezing and large, markets. The stock, generally speaking, comprise good young rams, and, on offer, elioited good competition. One and two shear-flock Lincolus brought up to four guineas, ltoinneys up to five guineas.
