•Hay-making.is not yet.completed in the Haniua district, says a'correspondent of au exchange, quite a number of paddocks of. hoy being .ready for harvesting. Sbveral good stocks may bo,observed,'froni tho roadside, and in some instances tho up-to-date farmer has already thatched jits stacks. Several paddocks of oats- aro also to bo seen, while almost every dairyfarmer.: has root crops under cultivation.

. Tho dairy milk, supply at tho Ballanco Dairy .Company's. Hamua creamery is about. 2600 gallons (says an exchange). During, the flash of tho season the largest quantity of milk delivered on any ono day.was clbso on 3009 gallons, a similar quantity being -. delivered in.. tho . some period-of-last year.. Although tho milk supply. ; is.,so,mcv.hat less now than . a .month i ago,,tho" supply of cream has not materially.decreased, and twelve caps aro sent .daily, to tho butter factory at Konihi.. Tho tests are now very. good, The highest is 4.3 and one is as low as 3.4. The recent additions and'alterations to the creamery have . proved of: great benefit; the. latest addition being a .newreceiving vat for. tho'new milk, which is about double the eiko of the former-one. Tho manager (.Mr. L. Ogdeii) stales that tho season in the Hamua district has so far been an excellent ono for dairying. To. look at tho pasture at tho present timo ono would naturally cohcludo that there is every possibility of tho season being a.record one. There are several large suppliers,,tho biggest, Messrs. Smith Brothers, delivering over a ton of mill; daily, while there are.no fewer than eight others who hove a daily load of over 10001b.
