WELLINGTON BROTHERHOOD.

Wellington Brotherhood met at the Druid's Hall yesterday, tho Rev. E. 0. Blamires presiding. Ho was supported by Sir. C. E. Bellrinser, of-New Plymouth. The speaker for the afternoon was the Bev. J. JKnowles Smith, who took for his subject, "Classes of our Fellow Men." The temptations surrounding each class, ho stated, were peculiar to themselves:. The brilliant men were often .so carried away with their own ability that they forget that it was not themselves alouo who were to be credited entirely v.ith their very success. In the case of others there was a danger of envying those who wero better able to do things than wo were, and sometimes, as an indirect consequence of this, we. become unwilling to do what we' are. able to do. The speaker referred to the parable of the tulents. I The man with one talent refused to use it and his action resulted in the loss of what lie had, whilst the ten-talented man increased. his store. On this aspect of duty the speaker'dwelt at some length. Continuing, Mr. Smith, referring to the, visit of Mr. John Hodge, M.P., to .New Zealand, mentioned that he had worked with Mr. Hodge during his first election campaign, in Gorton, and h'e referred in terms of warm appreciation to the work done by the class and party to which Mr. John Hodge and Mr. Will Crooks belonged. He incidentally mentioned the colliory disaster near Bolton, and/told of a Primitive Methodist .Church, in that district which had lost o.very ono of its male members by tho disaster. Mr. John Hodge, Labour M.P., of the British Parliament, will address the Brotherhood next Sunday afternoon at tho Druids' Hall. A picnic under the auspices of tho Brotherhoixl is contemplated in the near future.
