SOME GREAT 'RACING. By Telccraph—l'rcss Association—Copyright. (R-ec. January 15, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, January 14. Great interest is being displayed in tlio Swimming. Carnival. The attendance is seven thousand, and as many were turned away. The hundred yards championship provided a great race,, threo of tho men finishing almost together. 'Five competitors started in tho threequarter milo championship. The spectators expected the raco to bo between Healy and Beanrepaire, but Longwortli led from tho first lap, and steadily forged ahead. Healy and lieaurepaire raced together until eleven hundred yards, when both spurted for tlio remainder of tho •journey. Longwortli won by twenty yards. Healy was three yards ahead of Beanrepaire. The time was six seconds belter than Healv's record, and 22 seconds better than Beaurepaire's fastest. Hardwick and Springfield also finished, but a considerable distance behind. Longwortli used tho crawl leg action and the (rudgeon arm movement.
