A LIFE SENTENCE.
BURGLARY IN LONDON. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Rec. January 16, 0.5 a.m.) London, January 15. Charles Arthur has boeii sentenced to penal servitude for life. He was sentenced in 1902 to ten years for shooting at three constables at Spitalfields. ' Arthur was detected committing a burglary at a public houso in the borough. Constable Haytread chased and arrested • him after a • hand-to-hand struggle, and despite Arthur firing four shots at him at closo range, all of which, however, missed their mark.
