RELIGIOUS BROTHERHOOD.
REPORT EXPECTED. One of the most interesting debates the last session of the Anglican Diocesan Synod took place on the following motion jf tlio Rev. G. T. Woodward (Boston) I hat this synod recommend the establishment of a brotherhood, devoted to voluntary service, in (his diocese, for the purpose of coping with the tluee greatest noed?; of the day: (l) Religious education oi the young; (2) street missions; (3) religious work among bodies of labouring men; and that a committee be appointed to promote and carry into effect the object of this institution."
An amendment was finally carried ap* proving of the proposal, and appointing the Tfovs. C. C. Harper, J. H. Sykes, (j. T. Woodward, and J". Walker a committee, with power to add to their number, to consider the matter, and if the scheme were found practicable to draw up a report to be presented to the next meeting of the synod.
