MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr. W. G. Kiddell, S.M.) BOARDINGHOtTSE CASE. The only matters before the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning ■were two charges of assault, arising out of a disturbance at a boardinghouse on Monday evening. George Garner, and ltichard Thomas Driscoll were separately charged with having assaulted Edward Lander. Both accused pleaded not guilty. After hearing the evidence, which alleged that the men were under tho influence of liquor, and, after an altercation, throw Lander, keeper of the boardinghouso down on tho pavement, his Worship entered a conviction, and fiuo of ids., in each case. The default was fixed at seven days' imprisonment.
