FEATHERSTON

A meeting was held on Wednesday evening in tho Methodist Church for the purposo of making arrangements for the picnic to be held on November 9. _ Mr. A. W. Gray was elocttd secretary, and it .was decided to apply to the Town Board for the use of tho Domain for the purpose. In tho. event of tho weather boing wet, it was. decidcd to hold tho gathering in the Town Hall. 'The following were elected a coinmitteo: —Messrs. L. Groathead, Willis, Holdcroft, Roberts; Mesdames Tait, Holdcroft; Misses Aitchison (3), C. Bartlett, Sadlor (3), Davidson, and I. Tait. . Tho monthly meeting of the School Committee was held on Wednesday evening, Mr. W. Benton in tho chair. The recent concert showed a credit balance of £19 12s. 6d. A voto of thanks was accorded Dr. Palmer and all who had assisted' in tho entertainment. The headmaster reported that tho averago attendants for tho quarter ended September was 123. The inspector's report was of a satisfactory nature. It showed that while the roll number was 138, tho school was staffed for an averago of 90.
