Cook, Mastorton Mounted Rifles, to the Regimental Staff, Second Wellington Mounted Rifles. The appointment of Acting-Captain (lieutenant) J. M. Taylor, Wallace Mounted Rifles, has. been cancelled for non-compliance .with the regulations. . Leave of absence. —Surgeon-general S. Skennan, V.D.. Director-General of Medical Services (until November 9); Surgeon-Lieu-tenant-Colonel. J. M. Mason, Chief Sanitary Oflicer, N.Z.M.C.. (until November 8); Lieutenant R. E. Barker, Geraldine Mounted Rifles (until December 31). The Now ' Zealand Volunteer Long and Efficient Service Medal has been awarded ton: —Hon. Chaplain Row W. S. Bean, No. 1 Company New Zealand Engineers; Hon. Chaplain' Rev. J. H. Mackenzie, Nelson Rifles; and Quartermaster-Sergeant T. Valentine, No. 1 Company New Zealand G.A.V., Otago Division. The New Zealand Volunteer Service Medal has been awarded to:—Lieutenant-Colonel C. J. Cooper, 0.0., Canterbury Division N.Z. G.A.V.; Quartermaster-Sergeant E. Harding, Fifth Battalion, Wellington R.V.; and Sergeant W. M'Callum, Temuka Rifles. . Resignations.—Surgeon Lieutenant-Colonel the' Hon. W. E. Collins, M.L.C., N.Z.M.C. (D Battery); and Surgeon Lieutenant-Colonel .G. S. Clayton, N.Z.M.C. (Canterbury Mounted Rifles). ARTILLERY SERVICES. The duties of the Director of Ordnance will, in future, not include tho training of Garrison and Field Artillery .Volunteers. The training of these services will in future bo included in the schedule of duties allotted to. the.
