A six-roomed houso in King Street, owned by Speight and Co., brewers, and occupied by Robert Warren, was destroyed by fire early this morning. The family retired at 10 o'clock last night, leaving everything apparently safo. A small fire was then burning in the sittingroom. The house and contents were completely destroyed. Tho houso was valued at £300 or £400,. and the furniture at £225. Tho latter was insured in tho Now Zealand oflico for £!200. Tho insurance on tho houso is not known.
