BUSH FIRES.
CAUSE DERAILMENT OF AN ENGINE.

Forest fires in the State of Michigan havo caused panic and indirect]}', great loss of life. While a train, laden with persons fleeing from the fires, was making its way from tho town of Metz, it was derailed owing to the destruction of a culvert which the fires had consumed. Tho wreckago and piles of railway sleepers took fire. Men, panic-stricken, lied, leaving the women and children. In one steel car no fewer than fifteen charred skoletons were found. Tho fireman of the train took refuge in the engine tank, and jvas boiled to death.
