DAIRY OUTPUTS.
THE WILLER AND RILEY CONTRACTS. FACTORY DIRECTORS MEET. The "Hawera Star" of Friday states: — "Representatives of the directorates of 'tho Kaupokonui, Kaponga, Mangatoki, and Midhirst" Co-opcratim Dairy Companies met Mr: S. Turner, of Wilier and Riley, butter agents, at Eltham last night to discuss tho business position existing botwoen tho parties. These companies had arranged to consign their produce through Wilier and Riley, but since then, owing to complications on tho Continent, the firm nad thought fit to liquidate, presumably to reconstruct in order to '■ strengthen their position. The question at issue was whetherJ,ho firm, having liquidated, tho companies werei bound to stand to their arrangement. There were twenty factory directors 'present; l ' including Messrs.'W. Borrie, E. C. Barleyman (Kaupokonui), M. Fitzgerald (Kaponga), J. Marx (Mangatoki), and Brown (Midhirst). After a very long discussion the representatives decided to make fresh 'arrangements for the disposal of their outputs.- This arrangement will in all probability include produce now on ' tho water." The outputs last season of the factories named were as l follow:— Kaupokonui, cheese, 1148 tons. Kaponga, cheese, 200 tons; butter, 80 tons. -Mangatoki, butter, 425 tons. Midhirst, butter, 446 tons. /■ Totals: Cheese 1348 tons, butter 95 • ;V v. .tons. It' is noi quite' clear from the wording of the report of the meeting whether it was decided to cancel tho contracts with Wilier and Riley'or merely to make supplementary arrangements with another firm to safeguard against any hitch in London when the selling time 'arrives. , .
