WELLINGTON-NEW PLYMOUTH EXPRESS.

(BT TELEGr.Arn.—srKCIAt, COEKESPONDENT.) New Plymouth, October 16. A mass meeting of citizens to-night carried a resolution that in framing the time-table of the Auckland-Wellington servico the railway authorities be advised that'this meeting strongly protests against any change being made in the time-table of the Wellington-New Plymouth express, in which tho arrival of the express train at' New Plymouth from Wellington-is made later than 8 p.m. It was stated that the Department could retain tho present time-table and still connect on three days a week at Wellington with tho steamer from Lyttelton, and they preferred to sacrifice part of the southern connection rather than jeopardise the steamer service with Onehunga and its connection with llotorua and the Waikato train services.
