Obituary
News of the sudden death late on Saturday evening- of Mr Ernest M. Sanders'was. received \vith_very deep regret throughout the district wherein he was so favorably and honorably knowny and wherein practically all his life had been spent. Although during the last few years deceased had at times to seek medical attention there was nothing to indicate such a sudden end. and even on the afternoon of his death he was more cheery and happy than usual. Born in Queensland, the deceased came to Cromwell over half a century ago with his parents, when quite a lad. In his early manhood he was engaged in various occupations on the stations in the district, his servifies being regularly sought for shearing, while at times he gave some attention* to mining. Later for some years he was permanently employed by the Vincent County Council. In all respects he was a quiet, unassuming fellow, devoting his activities to his employment and his home, and he was held in high esteem throughout a wide district. When a young man he was married to a dauebter of the late Mr and Mrs Wm. Henderson, of Roaring Meg, and the family included six sons and two daughters, now all grown-up and resident in + h>'« 'b'striet. To these and the bereaved widow in their hour or sorrow the deepest smpathy of many friends goes out, and this we take the , opportunity of extending. The funeral takes place in the New Cemetery on Tuesday, leaving the residence at 2.30 p.m.
