WHAT! WITH VINEGAR.

Tou simply cannot imagine how many and varied are the uses of vinegar. Indeed, it seems that there is nothing worth mentioning for which it cannot be used. For the toilet, a vinegar rinse after a shampoo makes the hair beautifully clean and shiny, and as it stimulates the scalp, it promotes the growth of the hair.

Cold water bandages wrung out of vinegar and wound round the ankles and legs helps to reduce their size. If a few drops are put on a hot plate or shovel, it will rid a room of the smell of smoke, and the odor of cabbages, onions and fish can be removed from pans if they are cleansed with vinegar. Rust is easily removed with a few drops of vinegar, and when a lump of sugar is added to it, it will polish up the tiles beautifully. Mixed with blacklead, it will give an added brilliancy to the grate, and in conjunction with olive oil will improve the polish on the furniture. Sandy wasn't satisfied, and asked the dealer to take the gramophone back. "No, we can't take a gramophone back after the customer has had it a year. Is there anything wrong with it?" Sandy: "Aye—the needle's broke." A number of people were passing by Professor Studdit's house, when suddenly a loud bang rent the air. "Whatever is that?" shrieked a woman, thoroughly alarmed. "It's all right, madam," said a man standing by. "It's only another theory 'exploded.'" A new soap was being put upon the market by a firm of perfume makers, and the manufacturers organised a competition offering a prize for the best slogan advertising their latest product. ! When the Judging began the following came to light; "If you don't use our soap, for heaven's sake use our perfume."
