ANNUAL CONCERT AND BALL. (From our own Correspondent). The Hawea School Annual Concert and Bali, in aid of the school funds, was heid in the hall, Hawea Flat, on the evening- of the 12th iust. There was a large gathering of people from all parts of the district, and the function was one of £he most successful ever held in connection with the school. The concert was principally a juvenile one, contributed by the pupils of the school, who, it was apparent, had been ably coached by their teachers, Mrs McGregor and Miss Ross. Indeed a good deal of praise is due to them for the bill of fare which they succeeded in presenting to what was an appreciative audience, every item being well received.
