Sir George Reid, Australia’s High Commissioner, who made such an interesting speech at the Burns dinner doesn't mind telling stories against himself. " Austral.e is my country,” he told a recent audience, " and my sincerest efforts have always been to do the Commonwealth the greatest service in my power.” Yelled a man at the hack : “So you left it !” Collapse of the Commissioner. It was Sir George who said of the struggles of Suffragettes and policemen in a recent riot : ”1 never in all my life, saw so much embracing under such unfavousable circumstances.”
