Lowburn Notes.
FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. Social.— A pretty wedding took place at Mr J no. Werner's residence, Lowburn, on the 22nd February, when Miss Hildegard Werner, a native of tho place, was joined in wedlock to Mr A. Eady, who is also a young New Zealander, and thus will the offspring from the hardy pioneers that came here from different parts form a new race that will make tho name of New Zealand known and respected among nations of the world in times to come. The young people had many tokens of goodwill bestowed upon them, in .the way of valuable presents from friends and relatives, which I shall not attempt to particularise.
As a faithful chronicler 1 must not forget to mention that since the New Year no less than four weddings of young people born at the Lowburn has taken place, and it is rumoured that there is more to come off yet; in fact, it seems just now that there is an epidemic in wedding hereabouts, and I suppose we shall soon have a government expert here to inquire into the cause of it.
