KAKA POINT. The 'sub-committee appointed by the Kaka Point Welfare Society to >go into the matter of obtaining life-saving reels and ropes, etc., have decided to obtain two complete sets of up-to-date gear, similar to that used at the St. Clair Beach, for use at Wilsher Bay and Bates' Beach, Kaka l J omt. it is very conmieudaljle for the society to take this matter in hand at once, before having any fatality to urge the position on the-rn. * No accidents have so far occurred at either of these places; at the same time the 'bathing public will 'be able to enjoy their pleasure during the season nmuuh 'better ■witli the knowledge that these safeguards are on. 'hand. The committee will present their report as to their doings at a meeting of the society to be 'held in Balclutha next week.
