WHAT EXPLORERS FOUND AT THE TOP OP THE "LONGWOOD," Extract from well-kuowu Southland newspaper;-* "■A party-who made the aseent of the Longwood reports the track ill fairly good order, and, with the exception of some short patches, surprisingly dry for this time of the year. The hurdles to be surmounted, however, iu the shape of fallen logs seem to increase as time goes on, and renders what could easily be a day's pleasant ramble an undertaking calling for no small exertion. The erection of an extra finger-post or two would also be of assistance on the initial stages of the journey. Pigeons and other feathered dwellers of the bush were not numerous, and signs of wild cattle were encountered at one point only, out on the open top. At the camping ground at the top of the track the initials of former explorers were found indelibly carved on the stunted birches, and even at this high altitude a relic of civilisation, in the shape of a tin of Tiger Tea (empty), justifying the claim's of its purveyors, "Always on Top," was found calmly reposing on its bed of moss." Tu the backblocks, in the city, wherever it .is sold, Tiger Tea is "Always on Top."" Its quality, flavour and economy have put it there and kept it there. Try • the 2/- quality.-
