THREATENING THE WOMEN.
GERMAN ADVICE TO STARVING. Those unhappy Gennan women, who are compelled to starve in order that the food-ring in Berlin may accumulate wealth, come in for another castigation at the hands of the 'Neueste -\a: iinchten, 1 of Munich : Again and again our men in the field receive letters filled with foolish lamentations about the alkged dearness of food at home. If in many cases these complaints are justified, it i s nevertheless humiliating to find that after 16 months so many women have not yet grasped 1 the meaning of war, conditions They sob, weep and blubber fort' that meat and butter are unobtainable, that sandwiches without hut tor have no flavor, that they are sick of jam and mi lk less coffee. Do these wonn n realise that they are writing to men who many a time would give all they possess—which, alas! in most eases is very little—to have the opportunity to eat the things which their spoilt female relatives at home so greatly disdain ? Once again, Gennan women, we appeal to you, nay, we command you, cease your lamentations, and adapt yourselves to the prevailing conditions, instead of rendering lh > lift; of those in the field more distressful even than it already it.
