MR STEAD'S ICEBERG NOVEL.

Nearly 20 years ago the late Mr "W. T. Stead wrote a novel, whoso hero was a millionaire who possessed a peculiar telepathic sense by which he knew of the good or ill fortune of his friends at a distance. When crossing the Atlantic ho felt convinced that a certain acquaintance of his had been wrecked and was adrift on an iceberg. With the masterfulness of the millionaire he induced the liner's captain to go 100 miles or so out of his course. There 011 the iceberg he found his friend, and rescued him at the very last moment. One thinks that this old romance must have recurred to the memory of the great journalist during those last tragic hours on the Titanic.
