MOTOR-CAR MYSTERY.

The police of Lynn, Massachusetts, are searching for the murderer of .Mr •Gleorge Marsh, a millionaire soap manufacturer, aged 73, whoso body was found riddled with bullets in a swamp liiitside the town. It seems that he was killed near his home and that his body ivns afterwards driven in a. motor-ear through the streets and dropped by the roadside outside the town. When Mr Marsh's body was found life had been extinct for many hours. iAs no food was discovered in his stomach it is surmised that he missed his usual mealtime and entered the motorcar at the instance of a friend in order to keep an appointment. When last seen Mr Marsh was driving with an unknown woman in a trap near his house. Several witnesses have testified to seeing a car, containing what appeared to ho the figure of a woman sitting on a man's knee, racing through the town. But 'the police arc convinced that the alleged figure of a woman was in reality the dead body of Mr Marsh, which his murderer was supporting, and their investigations seem 'to show that the theory of a woman being responsible for the crime is untenable. Inquiries are now being made as to the movements on the fatal night of a man who is said to have been heavily indebted to Mr Marsh and was unaible to meet his liabilities. The police amnounco that important arrests may be expected as soon as it can be established without a doubt who was in the dead main's company between the hours of six and eight on the previous Thursday evening. It is believed that three men took part in the murder. Mt Marsh was a well-known philanthropist and was much respected in Lvnn. ' - ,
