CONCERT AT PORT MOLYNEUX.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A concert and dance was held in the Jetty Hall, Port Molyneux, on Friday night, the 3rd, the proceeds of which are to be devoted to the Ileomoana School funds. The night, being fine, drew together a largo and appreciative audience, the hall being comfortably filled. The chair was occupied by Mr Sievwright, Chairman of the School Committee. The following ladies and gentlemen contributed—viz., Miss Allison, piano solo ; Mr li. Wilson, song; Mrs Sicvwright, song; Mrs Marwidk, song; A. Jenkinson, reading ; Misses K. Wylie and Thomson, song ; schoolchildren, song ; Mr Harrison, song; Mr J. Thomson, recitation ; Mr F. Bates, song; Mr J. and Miss L. Shiels, song ; Miss E. McGuffog, recitation ; Mrs Geo. Begg, piano solo; Mr J ackinan,, song; Master Albert Paterson, recitation; Misses Campbell and McKay, mandoline and piano duet. Four of the scholars, two boys and two girls, gave an exhibition in club-swinging, for which they received a hearty round of applause. The teacher (Miss Kinder) must havfc "exercised a great deal of time land patience in "bringing them to the

perfection they - displaced in the handling of the clubs. Misses Allison and Campbell and' Mr 'fait played the various accompaniments. At the conclusion of the Joncert the Chairman proposed a vote of thanks to those who had so ably contributed to malw the concert a success. Mr Jaekman proposed a vote of thanks to the chairman. Credit must be ejiven to the energetic secretary fMr A. Tilson), who appeared to be the right man in the right place. After a supply of refreshments had been disposed of the hall was clewed and dancing commenced, and kept up with great spirit until .'i a.m., the music (piano and violin) being under the supervision of Mr Carrick, and needs no comment. Mr F. Bates, with his usual tact performed the duties of 91.0. The concert and dance were a thorough success both financially and otherwise.
