Rain halts men’s golf tournament at Russley
A start was made to the Russley men’s 36-hole open golf tournament yes-, terday, but the finish was premature. The club’s secretarymanager, Terry Quinn, said that the field teed off in drizzle but that soon
increased to heavy rain. The tournament was officially cancelled at 10.20 a.m. when the greens were under water. The first players to hit off had played eight holes. Next year the event will be held on March 25.
