Box 440, Christchurch. tCraigieburn Valley Ski Club FIELD STAFF REQUIREMENTS FOR 1989 WINTER APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED for the following positions with the Cralgieburn Valley Ski Club (Inc.). 1. OPERATIONS MANAGER (FIELD) This management position calls for a person with the highest integrity, willing to accept full responsibility for the success of our on-field ski week operation which runs for approximately 10 weeks during the period July to September. Applicants who are experienced in handling staff, avalanche control, hold a current N.Z. Explosives Certificate, and First Aid Certificate would have an advantage. Personal qualities should include good communication skills, a confident outgoing nature with an attitude that is compatible with the environment of the Club’s ski-ing operation. It would further be expected that the applicant has a good standard of physical fitness and be a competent skier. 2. FIELD STAFF. Persons with any combination of the following skills would be considered: - Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of diesel motors - Operation of rope tows and rope splicing. — First Aid Certificate, avalanche control and ski patrol skills. — N.Z. Explosives Certificate. - Experience in 4 x 4 tractor driving. Duties mainly day to day running of field, including operation of tows, avalanche control, maintenance of access road and general welfare of visitors. 3. TICKET OFFICE. Person with aptitude for figures, used to handling money and ability to keep records. Principal duties include manning of ticket office, and canteen. Basic accounting knowledge would be an advantage. 4. HUT CUSTODIAN. Responsible for day to day running of accommodation lodge including organisation of meals and duties, assisting in canteen, and general welfare of visitors. 5. SKI INSTRUCTORS. Three positions. Postion 1 and 2 are full time. Position 3 is five weeks August-September period. Positions 1 and 2 should hold at least the equivalent of N.Z. Stage II and have had several years teaching experience.
