Players on standby
Rod Latham and Paul McEwan, of Canterbury, are among six players placed on standby for possible selection in the limited-over cricket series against Pakistan.
The others are Ken Rutherford (Otago), Tony Blain (Central Districts), Chris Kuggeleijn (Northern Districts) and Gary Robertson (Central Districts). Of the six only Latham has not previously played for New Zealand in one-day matches.
