Lars Humer, of Christchurch, warms up for the KI 1000 semi-final race at the South Island KI Kayaking Sprint Championships on the Avon River at the week-end. Humer failed to make the final, which was won by Richard Boyle of Christchurch, in a time of 4min 26s. Malcolm Donaldson (Christchurch) was second in 4min 55s and Clarence Hines (Christchurch) was third in 5min.
