The appointee will be responsible for the management of the department, and also will have clinical and administrative duties in the Psychiatric Service. The clinical duties are particularly concerned with crisis intervention, but also include inpatient and outpatient assessment ' and treatment interventions, providing group treatments, community education and liaison, and the education of other health workers. It is expected that the appointee will be able to contribute effectively to the ongoing review and development of the Psychiatric Services, in a dynamic and progressive multidisciplinary team. Hutt Hospital is a general hospital with psychiatry being one of its specialty services. The Psychology Department predominantly serves the Psychiatric Services, but also has some input to the rest of the hospital. The Wellington Hospital Board is in the process of becoming an Area Health Board, when mental healthh services will be reglonalised. Salary will be determined within the provisions of the N.Z.
