Cameron Stakes draws 24

The Pukekohe juvenile pacer, Royal Motoring, and the Broadfield gelding, Head Above Water, which both contested last evening’s two-year-old race at Cambridge, are likely to be on hand for the next leg of the National Bloodstock bonus series at the Ashburton Raceway next Saturday. The two are among 24 nominations for the $lO,OOO R. M. Cameron Stakes (one mile) at the Ashburton Trotting Club’s meeting. Royal Motoring, a New York Motoring colt trained by Irvin Behrns, was a winner at the Auckland Christmas meeting, rating a fast 2min 00.7 s for the flying 1700 m. Head Above Water, a son of another National Bloodstock owned stallion, Apollo’s Way, was a

winner at Addington last month, for his trainer, Robert Dunn. Other winners entered fol the for the race are Toliver Trix and Zippy Jiffy. Alito American, another Auckland-trained juvenile which also raced at Cambridge last evening, Assisi, Blue Sap, Bowmin, Rangfern and True Blue head the list of race placed entries for’ the Cameron Stakes.

Fifteen entries have been received for the National Bloodstock Ashburton Breeders’ Stakes including the open class mares, Gina Rosa, Michele Bromac and Frangelico (now with Terry May), while Sundon heads the list of nine entries for the Bandag Hambletonian Three-Year-Old Trotters Classic.
