Women and engineering
Sir,—Having just completed my first professional training year in chemical and process engineering at Canterbury. University, I have not personally encountered any difficulties or harassment as a result of my sex, nor have I heard of any such problems being experienced by my peers. The lecturers are all completely unbiased while delivering their lectures and are willing to help anyone on a one-to-one. basis who chooses to ask for assistance. I assure Pat McCook (February 11) that equal rights in the Engineering School do not appear to have back-slid since the 1950s.—Yours, etc., TRACY McSPORRAN. February 13, 1989.
