B.A. executive denies lobby bid report

NZPA Sydney The general manager of British Airways for Australia and New Zealand, Mr Nick Tait, has denied a report in the “Dominion” that he is flying to Wellington this week to push his airline’s bid for a stake in Air New Zealand. Mr Tait said the article contained several inaccuracies including his

travel plans. “I have no intention of going to New Zealand to lobby. Our bid will remain on the table until midOctober should the New Zealand Government want to resume negotiations. “Our interest in being a shareholder in Air New Zealand is still as strong as ever, but we’re not as hopeful as we were,” Mr Tait said.
