Businesswoman of the Year
PA Wellington A Gisborne managing director who built her fibreglass factory from a backyard business in a barn to an operation with a $1.5 million turnover, Ms Bronwen Holdsworth, was named the 1988 Businesswoman of the Year last evening. Ms Holdsworth was presented with a trophy and the keys to an $BO,OOO BMW convertible by Ms Nancy Read, the Australian Businesswoman of the year. Ms Holdsworth is man-
aging director and company secretary of Pultron Industries, Ltd, a business which had small ■ beginnings in a barn in 1983 and has grown to an enterprise employing 19 people and turning over' SI.SM per year. Pultron, which manufactures fibreglass products using new technology, is a partnership between Ms Holdsworth and her husband Peter, who is the company’s technical director. His interest is in research and development, hers in business management.
