Two Christchurch knitters were among the placegetters in a “Knit a baby garment” competition. Mrs S. Thomson, of Bishopdale, was second in category one which required applciants to knit a matinee jacket to fit babies up to one year old. The garment was required to be hand knitted. Ms Katherine Kidd, of Redcliffs, was second in category four which required applicants to handknit a jumper or cardigan to fit a child aged one to five. Winning entries in the Shepherd Plunket competition’s five categories will be on display at the Plunket national conference in Rotorua in November.
