Body found in house

PA Tauranga Firemen found a man dead in his burning house south of Tauranga on Saturday evening. He was David Graeme Dowman, aged 29, a bush contractor, of Tauriko. The police said the remains of a 12-gauge single-barrel shotgun were found near Mr Dowman’s body. Also found in the house was a drum which had contained

petrol and the police confirmed an accelerant was used in the fire. No other person was being sought in relation to the incident. The three-bedroom house was engulfed by flames when two unite from the Tauranga Fire Service arrived about 7 p.m. Mr Dowman’s body was discovered in the lounge
