SYNCHRONISED SWIMMING Kevin Nevin, the only male competitor, picked up second place in the novice solo class in the Revlon Canterbury and South Island synchronised swimming championships at Queen Elizabeth II Park at the week-end. Nelson - Marlborough’s Joanne Hamilton comfortably won the class, but Nevin finished in front of the other four women competing. The open class was won by Jeanine Marriott who also finished on top in the 15, 16 and 17 years age group. seconds in winning last Sunday’s Dunlop Rallysprint held at the Ashley Forest. YACHTING Shelley Hesson braved the freezing weather conditions at the week-end to head off other youngsters in the Kolor Craft yachting series and win the third division at the Mount Pleasant Yacht Club. Division two: Peter Grey (Europe dinghy), 1; Dennis Langton (Zephyr) and Peter Andrews (Europe dinghy), second equal. Division three: Shelley Hesson, 1. Hole-in-one Mrs Daisy Caithness, of the Windsor golf club, holed-in-one during a competition for the ladies veteran cup last week-end. Her good fortune came at the No. 16 hole, which is a par three, and she successfully holed the shot with a 3 wood. Her good form gave her the edge to win the contest
