Top pianist cancels visit

PA Wellington The leading Russianborn pianist, Youri Egorov, has cancelled his visit to next month’s International Festival of the Arts in Wellington for health reasons, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra said yesterday. He will be replaced as

soloist for the March 11 concert by the young award-winning New Zealand violinist, Mark Menzies. Cellist - conductor Mstislav Rostropovich, originally set to conduct the March 18 concert, will replace Menzies as soloist. Maxim Shostakovich will conduct the performance.
